What is LiteCoin LTC?

LiteCoin LTC is a decentralized peer-2-peer crypto and open-source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. Basically, it is inspired by Bitcoin. LiteCoin started during 2011 and was among the earliest Altcoins. Litecoin started its life worth about $3 per coin. 

LTC blockchain is a modified Bitcoin codebase chain. That is why LiteCoin is referred as "Silver-2-Bitcoin's Gold".  It carries a lower transaction fees with faster transaction & confirmations and faster mining difficulty retargeting. During 2022, LTC featured with optional privacy via soft fork through the Mimble Wimble Extension Block upgrade. Litecoin one of earliest altcoins, starting in 2011.
